step by step
Get a letter of acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada before applying for a study permit.
Prove you have sufficient funds: CAD 10,000/year (outside Quebec) plus tuition, or CAD 11,000/year (Quebec). Bank statements, ITR, and sponsorship letters required.
Apply online via IRCC portal or through an SDS (Student Direct Stream) for faster processing. Biometrics required for Indian applicants.
Once approved, you receive a Port of Entry letter and visa stamp. You’ll get the actual study permit issued at the Canadian border on arrival.
